Biography

Perhaps he should have stuck to playing the saxophone in that after hours polka band, but
to many local dance fans, they are probably happy he didn't. Although Dean might have
become a world famous polka musician, its probably not likely he'd be able to help shape
modern dance music.
It all started when Dean was a young boy. An exhibitionist at an early
age, he revealed in entertaining groups of people. During the reception at a wedding
hosted in his local church, he had the opportunity to watch the "DJ" play
wedding music. Being a young boy, he was fascinated by all the buttons and switches on the
DJ board. But more Importantly he realized that the DJ controls the crowd, the mood, the
entire function is in the hands of the DJ
Fast Forward a few years and Dean got his first CD players which
propelled him forward into the wide world of Djing. No one is exactly sure of when, or
how...but at some point around age 12 Dean was introduced into the world of dance music.
At the time the big names were Josh Wink, and Basement Jaxx, and sadly, Dean got involved
into house music and cheesy 80's acid crap.
Fast-forward a few years. As the record slave for an older friend that
Dj'd, Dean was exposed to his two loves: Hard House and Trance. From that point on it
became a quest to find the best songs, and make the most perfect mixes to blend this
combination of raw power with flowing beauty.
Now what is in store? Dean continues to mix hard house music, throwing
in progressive house, bigbeat, trance, and acid to create energizing sets that make the
punters in the crowd cream their pants. Since the age of legality has been reached, the
possibilities of a Club Residency are looking more and more available. Locally, DJ KB
(known as Konnie to his friends) has left the Blue Room opening the doors for Dean. More
importantly however, the Roxy in Boston has lost its Thursday night hard house resident DJ
to the Avalon, and its this slot that DJ Dean hopes to fill in summer 2002.
Stay tuned...
